The Tembaletu Philosophy

We believe that the people and the communities in KwaZulu-Natal have a vast, untapped reservoir of potential.

There are therefore, possibilities for realising new skills, gaining deeper insights, reaching higher levels of understanding, and for achieving better and more humane modes of organisation and interaction, that have yet to be fully explored.

Our apartheid history has served to compartmentalise our people, to define and limit our horizons.

Against such history; ways of thinking and codes of practices, Tembaletu strives to offer a range of educational and training activities, which respond to the articulated needs of communities across KwaZulu-Natal, in a manner that contributes towards the building of a new, democratic, non-racial, non-sexist, equitable and peaceful South Africa, for all.
